Development stores are for app and theme developers. Transfer stores are built by Tringify partners for a client. Both are test stores, so they never take real payments. A notice in Markets > Payments shows which kind of store you're in. Live stores aren't affected by anything on this page.
Payments
Test stores take payments only through the Tringify test gateway, Test Payment Provider. It is installed and enabled automatically, and it is marked Provided by Tringify.
Cash on delivery, bank transfer, and Mark as paid aren't available, and live-mode payment connections can't be enabled. A transfer store can use them after it is handed off to its client.
Orders
Every order in a test store is a test order, including orders your staff create. To pay an order you created, send a payment link and pay it with the test gateway. Gift Cards and Store Credit can't pay for test orders.
Test orders from these stores are never sent to fulfillment or shipping apps.
Open your storefront
Test storefronts are password-protected. To open yours without the password, select View Store in the Store Admin sidebar, or View storefront in Online Store. The mobile app's storefront link works the same way. Each link works once and keeps the storefront open on that device for 12 hours.
Development stores
A development store uses a fixed development plan with small limits. It doesn't expire, and its storefront password can't be turned off.
Transfer stores
A transfer store uses the plan chosen for the client. Marketing email and custom domains stay off until the store is handed off.
The partner has three calendar months to build the store. When the build period ends, the storefront and checkout are locked. The partner then has 60 days to get an extension or hand off the store. Otherwise, it is deleted permanently.
Tringify can approve up to two extensions of up to one month each. Warning emails are sent when the store is locked, and 14 days and 3 days before it is deleted.
