Customer cohorts and stage activity

Understand customer purchase groups and compare recorded stages accurately.

Customer cohorts

The Customers report groups purchase histories by checkout email. The selected sales channel applies to those orders. The date range selects first-order cohorts; their lifetime revenue includes later orders in that channel, after refunds.

The customer groups shown above the cohorts use purchase recency and order count across all dates in the selected channel. Changing the cohort date range does not restrict those groups to that period.

Stage activity

Each funnel stage is counted independently. Browsing stages count distinct sessions, while purchases count orders. A larger later stage is possible. These counts do not establish that the same visitors completed steps in order and cannot identify a drop-off between steps.

Create a funnel with a name of up to 80 characters and 2–8 different stages. A store can keep up to 20 funnels. Changing the stage order changes how the comparison is displayed.
