A category is a structured product group, for example Clothing, Shoes, or Accessories. Categories form a tree: a category can be at the top level or nested under another category. Use that hierarchy to organize storefront navigation, filtering, category pages, and product browsing.
Where categories appear
A product can belong to more than one category. Assign categories while editing the product, or use a product CSV to assign them by slug. Your storefront can use those assignments for category pages, navigation, and filters.
Creating and managing categories
Open Catalog > Categories to create categories or import them from a CSV. Choose a parent to place a category inside another. Use the tree to browse branches; use the list to search, sort, filter, and manage categories in bulk.
When the tree cannot show every category
The tree shows a page of top-level categories and their descendants, up to a display limit. A large branch may be cut short on that page.
Deleting categories
Deleting a category is blocked while it has child categories or products assigned. Move or remove those first. If collection rules, discounts, or menus reference the category, Tringify shows the affected records and asks for confirmation before removing those references and deleting the category.
