General settings hold your store's name, country, timezone, number format, and base currency. Open them from Settings > General in Store Admin or the mobile app. Staff without permission to edit General settings can see them but cannot change them.
The store name appears in your admin, on the storefront, and in customer emails. The timezone is the clock used for order timestamps, scheduled posts, and reports.
Every store needs a country, including development stores. It is the storefront baseline country for shared-domain URLs, and changing it can offer matching number-format defaults.
Number format controls how saved prices and numbers appear in Store Admin and the mobile app. Customer-facing prices, including storefront prices and emails, follow their language and currency conventions.
The base currency is chosen when the store is created and cannot be changed afterwards. To sell in more currencies, enable them in Settings > Currencies.
