Quick FAQs#

What happens to translations when I disable a language?

They are deleted permanently, together with the language's translated storefront messages and search content. To hide a language from shoppers but keep its translations, remove it from the storefront instead. Manage store languages.

How many languages does my plan allow?

It depends on your plan. The limit counts every enabled language, including your default language, and Settings > Languages shows how many you use, for example 3 / 5 languages. If you schedule a change to a plan with a lower limit, that limit applies straight away. About store languages.

Why do some languages show a region, like Portuguese (Brazil)?

Some languages come in regional versions, such as Portuguese (Brazil) and Portuguese (Portugal). Each version is a separate language with its own translations, and its code includes the region, for example pt-BR. Choose the version your customers use.

Does enabling a language translate my store?

No. Enabling a language makes it available in Translations and in each storefront's language settings. Add translations, then add the language to a storefront so shoppers can use it. Publish a language on a storefront.

What do shoppers see when a translation is missing?

The original content from your default language. Translate store content.
