Attributes describe product choices, such as Color or Size. Options are the values customers choose, such as Blue or Large. Create an attribute once and reuse it on your variable products.
On the web
In Store Admin, open Catalog > Attributes and select Add attribute.
Enter a name, such as Color. Review the generated slug, or leave it blank to generate one when you create the attribute.
Choose the Sub type: Standard for text labels, Swatch for color choices, or Image for image choices.
Add at least one option and give it a label, such as Blue. For a swatch option, choose a color; for an image option, select an image from Media. Review the option value used to identify the choice.
Select Create to save the attribute.
On mobile
Open Attributes in the Tringify app and tap the add button.
Enter the attribute name and review its slug.
Choose Standard, Swatch or Image as the sub type.
Add at least one option with a label. Add a color for each swatch option or select a Media image for each image option.
Create the attribute using the form's primary action.
If you can edit Attributes but cannot access Media, existing option images remain in place when you change other details. Choosing or replacing an option image needs Media access.
Use the attribute on a product
Creating an attribute does not add it to a product or create variants. Open a variable product, choose it under Variant options, then add only the combinations you sell. See Use attributes on products and filters for the steps and How to create a product for the full product form.
