Package profiles
Package profiles live in Settings > Packaging Profiles. Each profile stores a name, outside dimensions, empty weight, and display units. They describe how goods may be packed; they do not calculate or change the shipping prices configured on a market.
Package assignment rules
Assignment rules are evaluated in priority order. A rule selects one collection and one package. It applies only when every product in a planned shipment belongs to that collection. The first matching rule wins, and the default package is used when no rule matches.
What happens when an order is placed
After inventory routing creates one fulfillment order for each selected location, Tringify resolves one package for each fulfillment order. Every fulfillment order receives a permanent readable reference formed from the exact order number and its sequence, for example #1042-1 and #1042-2. The selected profile and its measurements are copied into immutable package and parcel snapshots on the order. If package profiles have not been configured, the fulfillment order is recorded as package unconfigured. If a package exists but product weight is unavailable, the package is still recorded and parcel weight is explicitly unresolved. Weight is required only when the selected shipping method is weight-based.
Routing and split shipments
The routing strategy first tries one eligible online-fulfilment location. If none can cover the shipment, minimize splits chooses the fewest locations and uses fulfilment priority as the deterministic tie-breaker. The split-shipment policy separately decides whether more than one location is allowed.
Which setting owns what
Market Shipping owns the delivery option and customer-facing price. Fulfilment owns packing decisions, the inventory location, and whether an order may split.
