How do I start connecting a domain?
Go to Settings > Domains, select Add Domain, enter your domain, and select Continue. Tringify shows the connection options for that address. Choose an option, check the address shown, then select Add Domain. Adding a domain does not change its nameservers or make it your storefront’s primary address.
Can I keep my current DNS provider?
Yes, for www.example.com or any other subdomain, such as shop.example.com. If your domain already uses Cloudflare, you can also connect example.com without www while keeping your own Cloudflare account. You do not need to change nameservers. If Tringify already manages the domain’s DNS, setup takes you to its existing DNS workspace.
How do I add the records?
Add the records shown in setup at your DNS provider, then return to Tringify and select Check connection. With Cloudflare, follow the setup instructions for the CNAME’s proxy setting.
How do I move DNS management to Tringify?
Choose Manage DNS with Tringify when adding your root domain, such as example.com. Your domain stays registered with your current registrar.
- Wait for DNS preparation to finish.
- Review your existing records in DNS Records, including email records. Finding records can miss some; compare them with your current provider and add anything missing.
- Continue to Storefront connection and prepare the connection.
- Open Nameservers and replace your current nameservers at your registrar with the ones shown.
- Return to Tringify and check the connection. Keep the old DNS setup until your website and email work with the new settings.
How do I know the connection is ready?
Wait until the domain shows Connected in Settings > Domains. This means its DNS and HTTPS are ready. If setup asks for more DNS records, add them where your DNS is managed and check again. DNS changes and HTTPS setup can take time.
What happens if I don’t finish setup?
A domain that isn’t verified within 7 days of being added is removed, and you’re notified. Settings > Domains shows the date for each unverified domain. You can add it again once its DNS records are ready.
What if another store already added my domain?
A domain can belong to only one store. If another store added it but never verified it, you can claim it: Tringify shows a TXT record when you add the domain. Add that record at your DNS provider, then add the domain again. The other store’s unverified claim is removed and its owner is notified. A domain already verified in another store can’t be claimed this way.
How do I use the domain for my storefront?
Once the domain is connected, go to Online Store > Domains and assign it to your storefront. Set it as primary if you want it to be the main address customers see. Connecting a domain does not assign it automatically.
Can both example.com and www.example.com work?
Yes. Connect and verify each address, then assign both to the same storefront. Choose one primary address; the other redirects to it once connected. A DNS record for www alone does not complete its setup in Tringify. Domains dedicated to a country use that country’s settings. See About domains.
