A duty rule belongs to one country in a market. Duties must be enabled for the market, the country must be enabled for duties, and that country can have at most one rule.
De minimis
The de minimis value is the order value below which the rule does not charge duty. Its currency always follows the currency assigned to that country on the market's Pricing tab; changing Pricing keeps the duty rule aligned.
Default and HS-code rates
The default rate applies when no more specific HS-code rate exists. HS-code entries override it for matching goods. Codes can be entered with dots, spaces, or hyphens, but are saved as an even 2 to 12 digit canonical code. Two display forms that become the same canonical code cannot coexist.
Three rate shapes
Ad valorem is a percentage and uses rate. Specific is a fixed amount per kilogram or per unit and uses amount plus per. Compound combines the percentage and fixed amount. Fields that do not belong to the selected type are rejected rather than silently discarded.
