The customer list shows profiles for the current store. Search by email, name, or phone, then combine search with status, tag, verification, phone, marketing-consent, and created-date filters.
Add a customer
In Store Admin or the Tringify mobile app, open Customers and choose Add Customer. Email is required. Optional fields are first name, last name, phone with country, date of birth, email marketing, and SMS and WhatsApp marketing, which needs a phone number. The profile is created as active.
Select Send welcome email if you want to welcome the new customer by email. Leave it unchecked to create the profile without a welcome email. You need a configured welcome template, a transactional sender, and available email allowance. Sending this email does not verify the address or subscribe the customer to marketing.
The Add Customer form does not include tags, note, addresses, or status. Set those on the customer profile after creation, or include them in a CSV import.
Customer identity
Email identifies a customer and cannot be changed after the profile is created. Editing a profile does not mark an email address or phone number as verified. Names and notes accept Unicode characters; the form shows the allowed length. Saving an edit preserves fields you did not change.
Address recipient names are separate from the profile name. Edit the profile itself to change the name shown in Customers. When a shopper saves an address in their account, it can fill a missing profile name; names already on the profile stay unchanged.
Disable or enable a customer
Disable a customer to block sign-in and access to their account. Their profile, saved addresses, and past orders remain. This also applies when a Customer Update CSV changes their status to disabled. Disabling does not cancel orders or change marketing consent. Enable the customer again to restore account access.
Marketing consent
Use marketing consent to record whether a customer agrees to receive marketing. Keep it up to date when a customer subscribes or unsubscribes. If newsletter double opt-in is enabled, selecting consent requests confirmation; the customer is shown as subscribed only after confirming. The same rule applies to import and update CSV files. See Newsletter double opt-in.
SMS and WhatsApp marketing records whether the customer's phone number agreed to marketing texts. It needs a phone number on the profile and is separate from email marketing. A customer can stop texts with the link in any marketing text, and an SMS app can record a reply such as STOP, so check the current status before changing it.
