Create the definition first. Its field then becomes available wherever values for that kind of resource are edited. You can edit values with permission to edit that resource. Selecting a file also requires Media access.
Products, customers, and orders
Edit product values from the Metafields area of the product form. Variable products can also have different values on individual variants. Customer values are available from the customer, and order and order-item values are available from the order.
Content and store information
Open Settings > Metafield Values.
Choose what the field applies to.
Search for and select the collection, category, page, blog post, blog category, vendor, or brand you want to edit. Store metafields apply directly to the store and do not need a separate selection.
Enter or choose the values.
Save your changes.
The editor uses the input and validation rules from each definition. Reference fields provide a picker, choice fields show their available options, and list fields let you add more than one value.
Remove a value
Clear a field when that resource should no longer carry the value. This removes only that resource's value; it does not delete the definition or values saved elsewhere.
