Every menu item has a link type that decides where it leads. The editor only asks for a target when the type needs one.
Store resources
An item can link to a specific product, category, collection, page, blog post, blog category, vendor, brand, or policy. You pick the target from a search — the link stores the reference, so the destination URL stays correct even if the target's name or slug changes later.
Fixed destinations
Some types need no target at all: the home page, the shop page, the cart, the wishlist, the account area, order tracking, and the list pages for categories, collections, vendors, brands, and the blog.
Custom URLs and labels
A custom URL item links anywhere you type — an external site or a specific path on your storefront. A label item is not a link at all: it is a heading that groups the child items beneath it into a dropdown.
