Configure your Online Store

Manage languages, domains, country addresses, search previews, pixels, and storefront access.

Open Online Store in Store Admin or the mobile app. Its tabs control the customer-facing storefront. Search for a tab by name in global search to open it directly. Your staff permissions determine which tabs and editing controls are available.

Languages

The primary storefront follows the default language in Settings > Languages. Add additional store-enabled languages here, then open Countries to choose the languages each covered country serves and select one default. Without an explicit country assignment, that country serves only the storefront primary language. Adding a language does not translate content.

Removing a storefront language keeps its translations but removes its country assignments. If other assigned languages remain, one becomes the default; otherwise the country returns to primary-language-only behavior. Review Countries after removing a language. Assign selected applies to your selected countries. Assign to all countries replaces the language choice across the entire coverage, including countries outside the current search or page. Review its confirmation before applying.

Prompt controls optional country suggestions or a manual selector. Remember dismissal accepts 1–365 days. A suggestion appears only when another supported country is relevant; enabling it does not force a visitor to change country.

Domains

Add and verify the address in Settings > Domains, then wait for Connected. In the storefront’s Domains tab, assign the address and choose Set Primary. A root primary such as example.com serves the storefront directly without a www redirect. Other assigned addresses redirect to the primary unless they are dedicated country domains. To remove an address, first unassign it from its storefront and clear any email use identified by the removal message. Then remove it in Settings > Domains and complete verification. Tringify disconnects that address and its HTTPS certificate; completion can take a few minutes. DNS records at your provider are unchanged, so remove or replace those records yourself. Root and www are separate connections: remove each address you no longer need. Unassign alone does not disconnect a domain.

Coverage

Coverage is a read-only view of the countries available through active markets, their currency, languages, and configuration issues. Search by country name or code and filter by country or currency. Fix market coverage in Markets, country currency assignments in Settings > Currencies, and language choices in Languages > Countries. Recheck Coverage afterwards.

Country URLs

Use the addresses shown for each country and language instead of constructing them yourself. Where your plan allows dedicated country domains, select an active custom domain already assigned to this storefront. The primary domain and domains used by another country cannot be selected. One country can have one dedicated domain. Change domain replaces its current domain in one step. Revert to shared domain returns that country to the displayed shared addresses.

A dedicated country domain serves its default language at the root and other allowed languages in language subfolders. If a domain was changed by someone else while your picker was open, refresh and choose again.

SEO

Edit Home, Shop, and Search separately. The title pattern surrounds each resolved page title using the page_title and shop_name tokens. It accepts up to 200 characters. An empty pattern leaves the page title unchanged. SEO and social titles and descriptions can be translated after source text is saved; the social image and indexing choices are shared across languages. Save each changed editor. Search engines may choose their own displayed title and description.

Search engines

Search engines shows whether search engines can index the storefront, what its sitemap lists, the rules in its robots.txt file, and which crawlers visited recently. AI crawlers lets you choose whether AI companies may read the storefront; search engines are not affected.

Verification proves to services such as Google, Meta, and Pinterest that the store is yours. In the other service, choose the HTML tag or meta tag option and copy the tag. Paste the whole tag, or choose the service and paste only its code, then add it. The tag appears on the home page of every storefront, on every domain. Then return to the service and verify.

Apps you install can add their own verification tags, and each tag shows who added it. You can remove any tag; an app can remove only its own, and uninstalling an app removes its tags. Services check again from time to time, so remove a tag only when you no longer use that service. A store can have up to 20 tags.

Pixels

Custom pixels need a name, code, and a consent category. The form shows the allowed lengths and pixel allowance. Choose analytics, advertising, or personalized advertising to match the code you add. Enabled pixels run only when their required consent is granted. App-managed pixels can be enabled or disabled here; edit their code through the app that owns them. Deleting a custom pixel removes its code permanently.

Status

Live, Maintenance, and Coming soon change what visitors can access. Read and confirm any warnings before taking the storefront offline. Password protection is separate: enter a new password and save to change it, or switch protection off and save to remove it where allowed. Development stores remain password-protected. Passwords accept at most 72 UTF-8 bytes; accented letters and emoji can use more than one byte. The form warns when a password is too long.

To open a password-protected development or transfer storefront without the password, select View Store in the Store Admin sidebar or View storefront in Online Store. Each link works once and keeps the storefront open on that device for 12 hours.
