Use Simple mode
Simple mode applies one cash-on-delivery rule across the market. Turn on only the fee, minimum, maximum, and fee-waiver rules you need. Disabled rules do not participate in order calculation.
You can save your cash-on-delivery preferences while cash on delivery is switched off, even before completing Simple fees and limits. Complete every enabled rule before turning on Simple cash on delivery. In Advanced mode, the saved Simple fees and limits are kept for later and do not affect zone setup.
Use Advanced mode
Advanced mode matches the shipping destination against cash-on-delivery zones. A subdivision match wins before a whole-country match, and the default zone covers destinations that no specific zone claims. Each zone can have its own availability, fee, thresholds, tax class, and HSN or SAC code.
Save Advanced mode before opening COD zones. You can configure zones while cash on delivery is switched off. Turn on Enable COD and save when you are ready to offer it; this market-wide switch applies in both Simple and Advanced modes.
Development and transfer stores take test payments only, so cash on delivery can't be turned on there. Saved cash-on-delivery settings are marked Inactive; you can still turn them off and save. A transfer store can offer cash on delivery after it is handed off to its client.
Default is off when you add a zone, including your first zone. Keep it off to offer cash on delivery only in the countries or subdivisions you select. Turn it on only when this zone should cover all remaining destinations in the market. Without a matching zone or a default zone, cash on delivery is unavailable.
Product eligibility rules
In Store Admin or the mobile app, open Markets, choose a market, then Payments and Cash on delivery. Add product rules to allow or block items by tag, category, vendor, brand or title. You can save up to 10 rules.
Priority 1 is checked first, then higher numbers. The first rule matching any item decides product eligibility. Rules with the same priority are checked from oldest to newest; use different priorities when the order matters. Allowing an item does not override cash on delivery being switched off for the market, a blocked destination or the minimum and maximum order values.
A disabled zone blocks cash on delivery for its destinations. It does not send those customers to a broader country or default zone. Turn off cash on delivery for the market to stop offering it everywhere in that market.
Currency amounts
Enter a positive amount for every market currency for each enabled fixed fee, minimum, maximum, or fee waiver. COD does not convert missing amounts. Add a currency, configure its required amounts, then assign countries to it.
Amounts must fit the selected currency: for example, CAD permits two decimal places, KWD three, and KRW none. Percentage fees must be greater than 0 and no more than 100%, with at most six decimal places. Minimum and fee-waiver amounts cannot exceed the maximum order value.
