Create a zone
Open Markets, select the market, and open Shipping.
Select Advanced mode and save it. Wait for the save to succeed, then open Shipping Zones.
Add a zone and select a whole country or specific subdivisions that belong to that market.
Use Done to add the zone to the draft. Open Methods & Rates, select that zone, and add its shipping methods and rate tiers. Done keeps each edit in the draft; Save Changes saves General, Shipping Zones, and Methods & Rates together.
Review the complete draft and use Save Changes once.
Choose a method type
A method can be free, flat, weight-based, price-based, item-count tiers, or per item. Priced rows require base-currency amounts; other currencies allow exact overrides. Missing overrides use the current unexpired exchange-rate snapshot in automatic mode or the saved rate in manual mode, with the currency rounding policy. Removing a currency removes its overrides. Price-tier overrides must cover every tier.
Weight-based methods have a saved unit: g, kg, lb, or oz. Enter every tier boundary in that unit. Existing methods use grams. Product and variant weights are converted from their stored units; checkout rounds each unit up to a whole gram before multiplying quantity. Tier boundaries are converted to grams without rounding. Changing a method’s unit changes the meaning of its entered boundaries, so review them before saving.
Item-count tiers select one shipping charge using the total shippable quantity. Per Item is a separate method that multiplies one unit charge by that quantity: 5 per item and 3 units costs 15. Quantities are counted across products and variants; non-shippable items do not count. Per Item has one price row and no quantity tiers. Currency conversion rounds the total charge once after multiplication. Existing item-count methods retain their tier pricing.
Build tiers without gaps
Weight, item, and price tiers start at zero and meet edge to edge. The minimum is included and the maximum is excluded. Tiers cannot overlap, leave a gap, or place another tier after an open-ended maximum.
When weight is required
Product or variant weight is required only when a weight-based method must resolve a rate. Free, flat, price-based, and per-item methods do not require product weight.
How price thresholds are measured
Price-based shipping uses the merchandise subtotal left after product discounts. Tax, duties, shipping, cash-on-delivery charges, and checkout fees are not part of that threshold.
Tax on shipping
You can assign a tax class from this market to simple shipping or to an advanced method. Tringify calculates tax on the resolved shipping charge after the method is chosen. Leave the tax class empty when shipping should not be taxed.
Checkout offers active methods from the matched zone only. If none can supply a rate, it does not try a broader zone. A missing state uses the country fallback or default zone. Countries must belong to the market, and selected states must belong to their selected countries. Deleting a zone also removes its methods and rates when the configuration is saved.
Matching an address
Like Tax zones, Shipping matches a specific state first, then the country fallback, then Rest of world. For each selected country, no selected states means the rest of that country. Uttar Pradesh in one zone and India with no states in another means the India zone covers the other Indian states, regardless of creation order. Duplicate state claims and duplicate country fallbacks are rejected. Editing excludes the current zone from conflicts. Removing a state zone returns its coverage to the country fallback or default zone.
