Media holds the files you use in catalog and content fields: product photos, brand logos, PDF documents, videos and 3D models. Upload a file once and select it again wherever that library and format are supported.
Choose a library
Use Media for catalog and content files. Use Online Store > Site assets for theme images, favicons, checkout branding and other storefront artwork. A file stays in the library where it was uploaded. To use the same source file in both libraries, upload a copy to each.
Both libraries use the same store storage allowance. Access to Media and access to Site assets are granted separately.
A file can be used more than once
Selecting an existing file does not create another copy. Removing it from one product or other record leaves it in the library and does not remove it from other records.
Product galleries accept images, MP4 video and GLB or USDZ models. Other fields may accept only images or a narrower set of formats. A file being accepted into Media does not mean every field can use it.
Adding files
Upload from the library or from a field that offers uploading. Supported CSV imports can also add images from external URLs to Media. Uploading files explains the available formats and workflow.
CSV files are not Media files. To import or export data with a CSV, use the Import and Export actions on the page for that data.
