A blog category is a primary topic for blog posts, for example Company News, Product Updates, or Guides. Use blog categories when posts need a structured section with its own page copy, SEO metadata, and storefront template.
Where blog categories appear
A blog post can belong to blog categories. Blog Category assignments appear on blog post responses as category IDs plus category slugs, and category pages can show all posts assigned to that topic.
Creating and managing blog categories
Create blog categories from Blog > Categories or while editing a blog post.
Deleting blog categories
Deleting a blog category is blocked while blog posts are assigned to it. Move those posts to another category or remove the category from the posts, then delete it.
