Order numbers are built from parts you control: an optional prefix and suffix (letters, numbers, and hyphens), the number itself, an optional date, and a separator between the parts. A live preview at the bottom of the page shows exactly what your next order number will look like as you edit.
Sequential or random
Sequential numbering counts up from your starting number — you can pad it with leading zeros for uniform length, and the next number can only be increased, never lowered below what's already been used. Random mode generates a unique alphanumeric code per order instead, with a length you choose; use it when you don't want order volume to be guessable from the numbers.
Dates and per-period reset
You can embed the current date in each order number (formats like YYMM or YYYYMMDD), positioned before or after the number. With a date part and sequential numbering, Reset per period restarts the count each time the date period changes — for example, starting from your period start number each month.
Auto-archive
Auto-archive moves orders that are fulfilled and paid out of your active list after the number of days you set, keeping the orders view focused on work that still needs attention.
