Open Catalog > Gift Cards. Products lists the Gift Cards customers can buy; Issued cards lists the cards and balances already issued. Gift Card products also appear in All Products.
Choose Products, then Create Gift Card product.
Enter a title, description and SKU, then a price in each currency you want to sell the card in. Add images and organize the product as needed.
Review the selected sales channels. Online Store is selected initially; a new product starts as a draft.
Set the status to Active and save when you are ready to sell. Open the product again from Products to edit it.
Once the product has a page on your store, View on store opens it: from the product's actions while you edit it, or from its row's actions in Products, in Store Admin and the mobile app.
Where customers find it
An active Gift Card product published to Online Store can appear in the shop, collections and product search unless you hide it from listings. Add it to a menu using the product link picker or feature it in a product section. Creating a product does not issue a card or add it to your menus automatically.
Prices and currencies
The price you enter for a currency is the value of the card shoppers get when they pay in that currency. Gift Card prices are never converted from another currency, because a card holds its value in one currency only. Leave a currency empty and the card isn't sold to shoppers paying in it: it is hidden from them in the shop, collections, search and on its own page.
The title is one name translated per language, not per currency, so shoppers see the same name next to every price. Use a currency-neutral name such as Gift Card rather than one that names an amount or a currency.
Safe editing
You can update the title, description, images, search-engine details, organization, visibility, status and sales channels. Once an order includes the product—even before payment—its prices in every currency and its SKU are locked, and it cannot be deleted. Archive or unpublish it and create a new product for a different value. Previously issued cards keep their own balances, recipients and expiry dates.
Gift Card products never ship and do not use physical inventory, shipping, tax classes, sale prices, quantity discounts or free-gift settings. Existing products with multiple values remain available; new Gift Card products use one value.
Translate a Gift Card product
Gift Card products are translated like other products. Open a saved Gift Card product from Products, in Store Admin or the mobile app, and choose a language other than your default language with the language selector at the top of the page. The selector appears once your store has more than one language.
You can translate the title, URL slug, description, SEO title and SEO description; the original text is shown with each field. A translation whose original text changed after it was saved is marked Needs review. AI translation is available when your store and permissions allow it. Prices, SKU, images and the other settings are the same in every language. Save the translation before you switch to another language.
Buying for someone else
On the Gift Card product page, shoppers can buy the card for themselves or send it as a gift. To send it, they enter the recipient's name, an email address or a phone number with its country calling code, an optional message and, optionally, a later delivery date and time.
Different recipients stay on separate cart lines, and checkout shows each card's recipient. Increasing the quantity on a line buys more cards for that same recipient; each is a separate card with its own code. Cards are issued only after payment; changing the product later does not change an existing order.
When a shopper picks a send time, the cart shows when the card sends in your store's time zone, with the zone named and in the shopper's language, for example Fri, Oct 30, 9:00 AM (Hong Kong Time).
