Add app blocks to your theme

Place an app's blocks in the theme editor, on the pages they work on.

What app blocks are

Some apps add blocks you can place in your theme yourself: instalment prices under the product price, a size guide, a delivery note. You choose where each one appears and set it up in the theme editor, like any other block.

Add a block
  1. In Store Admin, open Online Store, choose your storefront, then open Themes and choose Edit theme.

  2. Open a page the block works on, such as a product page.

  3. Select a section that accepts app blocks and choose Add block. App blocks are listed under their app's name, with a short description of what each one shows.

  4. Choose the block, change its settings in the panel, then save and publish your theme.

Your theme decides which sections accept app blocks. If a section offers none, try another section on the page.

Which pages a block works on

Each block lists the pages it works on: product pages, collection pages, the cart, content pages, the customer account, blog pages or the home page. The theme editor offers a block only on those pages, so if you can't find a block, open one of its pages. A block can't be saved on any other page; the editor tells you which block to move. Alternate templates count as their page type: a block for product pages works in every product template.

Blocks marked No frame

A block marked No frame is shown directly in your page, with your theme's fonts and colors. It loads with the page, so it keeps your storefront fast, and it can't run code in your store. Other app blocks show their text first and then the app's own content in a frame below it, which loads after the page and can be interactive, for example to add items to the cart.

When an app is removed

If you uninstall an app, or an update to the app no longer includes a block, the block is marked Unavailable in the theme editor and shows nothing on your storefront. Reinstall the app or remove the block.
