Apps can add three things to your storefront: blocks you place in your theme, embeds such as a badge on every page, and pixels that send shopper activity to analytics or advertising services. Installing an app turns none of them on.
What |
Where you control it |
|---|---|
App blocks |
In the theme editor, in sections that accept app blocks. See Add app blocks to your theme. |
App embeds |
In the theme editor, under App embeds, for each storefront. |
App pixels |
Under Online Store, choose the storefront, then Pixels. See Pixels. |
An app can also turn its own embed or pixel on for all your storefronts, for example when you finish its setup. Your choice wins: one you turned off stays off.
Consent decides when they run
Every embed and pixel declares a consent category. Essential embeds show for every shopper. Anything else, such as analytics, advertising or personalized advertising, waits until the shopper allows that category in your consent banner, and stops when they withdraw it. Pixels only receive the shopper activity their category allows. See Visitor consent categories.
A pixel marked Full page access runs directly on your pages instead of in its own isolated frame. Tringify reviews these separately and asks you to confirm before turning one on.
When something doesn't show
Check it is turned on for the storefront you are looking at, and that your consent choice in the banner allows its category.
If an embed's text breaks the rules for app content, it is left out of the page and App embeds shows the reason. Contact the app's developer.
Uninstalling an app removes its blocks, embeds and pixels; installing it again starts with everything off.
