Every app has a privacy policy, terms of service and documentation, hosted by Tringify at apps-support.tringify.com. The app's developer writes them, and Tringify reviews every version before it is published. They are public, so you can read them before you install an app, including an app you were sent an install link for.
Where to find them
Before you install: the app's page in the App Store links its privacy policy, terms of service, documentation and support email.
After you install: open Apps in Store Admin or the Tringify mobile app and choose the app. Its page links the same documents and the support email.
The app's support page:
apps-support.tringify.com/<app>links all of them in one place. The documentation has its own search.
What this app can access
Every privacy policy starts with What this app can access. Tringify writes this part, not the developer, from what the app's current version is allowed to do:
the store data it can read or change, such as products, orders or customers;
the store events it is told about, and which details are shared with it;
the tracking it adds to your online store, and the visitor consent each part needs before it runs;
the extra information it keeps on your products, orders or other records;
the services it provides to your store, such as payments, messages or deliveries;
for an app that can read customer data, how it is asked to share or delete a customer's data, and that it is asked to delete your store's data 48 hours after you uninstall it.
When a new version of the app changes any of this, Tringify publishes a new version of the privacy policy with the new list, and you are notified.
The rest of the privacy policy, the terms and the documentation are written by the developer: how they handle your data on their own systems, the conditions for using the app, and how to set it up. Tringify reviews them before they are published, but the developer is responsible for what they say and for keeping to them.
Versions and dates
Each published version of a privacy policy or terms of service has a number and a date. A published version never changes: a change is published as a new version, and the earlier versions stay available from the document's list of versions.
On an installed app's page, Tringify also shows the versions that were in force when your store installed the app, so you can read exactly what you agreed to. They stay the same when the developer publishes a newer version.
When a developer changes them
When a new version of the privacy policy or terms of service of an app you have installed is published, staff who manage apps get the notification App privacy policy or terms updated. It arrives in your store's notification inbox, by email and by push, according to your notification settings. Opening it takes you to the app's page, where the new version is linked. You can turn it off in Settings › Notifications like other app notifications; see Notification channels.
Documentation changes are reviewed by Tringify too, but you aren't notified about them: the documentation always shows its current version.
Contact the developer
Questions about an app, how it uses your data, or a request to see or delete data it holds go to the app's developer. Use the support email shown on the app's App Store page, its page under Apps and its support page.
