How Gift Cards are delivered
Saving Schedule delivery sends the card at that future time, even if it previously had no delivery. The time must be before expiry. Delivery uses the recipient email when present; otherwise it uses the recipient phone through your store's messaging settings. A matching recipient and available delivery method are required. Moving the schedule moves the waiting send. Clearing it cancels the waiting delivery and sends nothing now; schedule it again or choose Resend when you want to send it.
A Gift Card bought in your store is issued only after its order is paid. Tringify sends it as soon as it is issued, or at the delivery date and time the shopper chose. Until then the card stays Scheduled and can't be redeemed. Test orders don't issue Gift Cards.
Each card goes to one destination, chosen in this order:
The recipient's email address.
The recipient's phone number, when no recipient email was given.
With no recipient, the buyer: the order's email address, or its phone number when it has no email address.
By email, the card is sent with the Gift Card Delivery email. Every store starts with one, using the subject Your {{ shop.name }} Gift Card. Edit its design and subject in Marketing > Transactional Emails; it can show the recipient's name, the code, the amount, the sender's message, the expiry date and one button, View your gift card, which opens the card on your store and is included while your store's Gift Card page is on. By phone, the Gift Card message is sent on the SMS or WhatsApp channel selected in Messaging settings; edit its text in Message Templates, where {{ gift_card.view_url }} adds the link to the card.
If you edited the Gift Card Delivery email before the button was added, it keeps your design: add a Button block with {{ gift_card.view_url }} as its link to offer it.
An order of only Gift Cards ships nothing: checkout asks for a billing address instead of a delivery address, and the order has no shipping address. It is marked Fulfilled once its cards are issued, and the order page lists them under Gift cards rather than Fulfillments.
Checkout checks the delivery route before taking payment. If the email or phone delivery a card needs isn't available in your store, the shopper is told that Gift Card delivery is unavailable and can't place the order. When a card would go to the buyer and the order has no email address it can use, checkout asks for one.
If your Gift Card settings apply an expiry, it counts from the delivery time, so a scheduled card's validity starts when it is sent. Open the card under Issued cards to see its deliveries and their status.
Issue a card manually
Open Catalog and choose Gift Cards, then Issued cards.
Select Issue Gift Card.
Choose the currency and value, and enter a reason. Choose whether to share the code yourself or use an available delivery method.
Check the Language the card is sent in.
Enter the recipient details required by your chosen method, then issue the card. If sharing it yourself, copy the code and keep it secure. Staff who can edit Gift Cards can show it again later from the card's page.
Delivery language
Each Gift Card has a language, and its email and text message are sent in it: in your translation of the Gift Card template into that language when you have one, otherwise in your store's default language, as with other customer messages. A card bought in your store takes the language of its order. When you issue a card, choose its Language: it starts on the language of the customer you picked, which is the language of their latest order, or on your store's default language, and you can change it.
You can change a card's language on its page only while it is unsent and unused. Each change is recorded as Language updated. Resend always uses the saved language.
Delivery setup
Email delivery requires an active Gift Card email template and a verified transactional sender. Phone delivery uses the SMS or WhatsApp channels chosen for Gift Card messages in Marketing > Messages, and needs a ready provider for at least one of them. Configure the provider’s approved template for Gift Cards, including its code variable. A connected provider alone does not confirm that this template is approved or that the account has sending credit. If delivery setup cannot be checked, the request shows an error. Retry after the service is available; a failed check never saves a delivery schedule.
Recipient details control delivery; they do not restrict who can redeem the card. Anyone with the code can use it.
Recipient details
Enter a valid email address or select a country calling code and enter a valid phone number. Keep the amount within the displayed maximum and decimal precision. Recipient names, messages and reasons have displayed length limits.
Schedule delivery
A card issued for future delivery stays Scheduled until that time, when Tringify activates and sends it. An expiry must be later than the scheduled delivery time. Editing the delivery schedule of an already active card changes when it is sent; it does not pause redemption.
