Open Settings > Compliance and choose Age gate.
Turn on the age gate and choose the minimum age, from 13 to 25.
Choose All visitors or Selected countries. For selected countries, choose at least one country.
Choose how long a visitor's answer is remembered: for the browser session or for 1 to 30 days.
Choose what happens when a visitor is too young: show a message asking them to come back later, or send them to a web address you enter.
Optionally replace the heading, text, and button labels, then choose Save Changes.
The age gate covers every page of every storefront in your store until the visitor confirms their age. It does not check identity documents. Search engines and advertising crawlers still see your store's content.
Leave a text field empty to use the standard text, shown in the visitor's language (English, German, Spanish, French, or Italian). Text you enter is shown as written to every visitor. Write {age} where the minimum age should appear.
Under Text, Heading allows 120 characters, Message 600, and Confirm button and Decline button 40 each. These fields change the question and buttons, not the message shown after a decline. Choose Save Changes to apply your settings. Turning the gate off keeps the saved settings for later.
The age gate uses the same visitor country as the consent banner. When it is set to selected countries and a visitor's country cannot be determined, the age gate is shown.
If your theme has its own age gate section, your storefront uses it. Otherwise, a plain age gate that follows your theme's fonts and colors is shown.
Turn on age gate controls whether the gate appears. Minimum age accepts 13–25. Show to offers All visitors or Selected countries, with the same country search and quick-select groups as the banner. Remember the answer offers For the browser session or For a number of days; Days accepts 1–30. These settings apply across your storefronts, but confirmation is remembered in a browser cookie on the current storefront host.
If you raise the minimum age, visitors who confirmed a lower age are asked again. If someone changes the settings while you are editing, reload the current settings, review your choices, and save again.
When a visitor is too young offers a message or a redirect. For Send them to a web address, enter a full https:// Web address (up to 2,048 characters). Declining does not save an age confirmation: the message keeps the page blocked, or the visitor is sent to that address. Escape does not dismiss the gate. Confirmation lets the visitor continue; turning the gate off lets visitors enter without confirming.
