While your storefront is in Maintenance or Coming Soon, or has a password, visitors see the maintenance, coming soon or password page. You can still see the real storefront, as it will look when it is Live, with a preview. Only you see it.
Open the preview
Open Online Store › Status in Store Admin or the mobile app and choose Storefront Status.
Select Preview store. It appears while the storefront is in Maintenance or Coming Soon, or has a password.
The storefront opens in a new browser tab.
Each preview link works once and keeps the preview open in that browser for up to 12 hours. Staff who can view Online Store can open a preview. For development and transfer stores, View Store in the Store Admin sidebar and View storefront in Online Store open the same preview.
The preview bar
While you preview, a slim bar at the top of every page reminds you what visitors see instead:
Your store is in maintenance — only you can see this.
Your store is in Coming Soon — only you can see this.
Your store is password protected — you're seeing it without the password.
Tringify adds the bar to every page itself, so it appears with every theme. You don't need to change your theme.
Exit the preview
Select Exit preview in the bar. The preview ends in that browser and the storefront shows what visitors see: the maintenance, coming soon or password page.
What a preview does
You can browse, search and use the cart as if the storefront were Live.
An order you place during a preview is a real order. Use a test payment method, or cancel test orders afterwards.
Preview pages are never stored in the storefront cache or shown to search engines, and they don't change what visitors see.
